Foreword: This piece is related to The Wahei Transcripts series I've been writing. One of the Shadows made an appearance in Account of an Investigation, and they were mentioned in Another Twilight Conversation, but this was something I wrote to quantify who they were and why they were dangerous.

DETAILS: First rez approx. 100Y prior to Battle of Six Fronts, in vicinity of Arabian Marshlands. Distinguished in combat during Battle of Six Fronts. Wounded at Battle of Burning Lake, temporarily restricted from the Light due to Hive magic, unable to join the Great Host in the Battle of Luna. ('Great Disaster')
Following recovery, Kashaf spent some time in the City, even working alongside the Praxic Order, showing a propensity for tracking down proscribed books and artifacts for containment in the Praxic Vaults. It is suspected that his interest in Hive artifacts began at this time, which later led to his recruitment by Dredgen Cull to the Shadows of Yor, where he took on the moniker "Dredgen Bog."
It was through his association with Cull that Kashaf came into contact with Damon Geist (POI #0479), Magda-9 (POI #0480), and Hadil Ainu (POI #0492). Kashaf's affiliation with the Shadows of Yor remained unknown, and as such retained access to Praxic Vaults without censure. It is during this time that he attained access to, and read, proscribed text PSC-1642-UMB ("Umbranomicon"). Kashaf's behavior underwent a notable change at this point, becoming more radicalized and openly flaunting his usage of a Thorn, including during Crucible activities. This radicalization spread among Geist, Magda-9, and Ainu.
When Shin Malphur began his purges of the Shadows of Yor, Kashaf and his crew managed to escape while Malphur pursued Cull. Their activities were still clandestine at this time, but it is now known that they pursued further knowledge of the Darkness and how to wield its power, including how to forge Dark weapons. Kashaf's team, now calling itself the "Shadows of Salvation," has been sighted in a number of atrocities across the system. Their most recent sighting was in the vicinity of the Loyalist Cabal ship Glykon Volatus, from which Kashaf stole Hive artifacts.

DETAILS: First rez timeline not certain, believed to be mid-Dark Age (i.e. decline of Warlords), allegedly in Eastern EDZ. Late arrival to City, following Battle of Six Fronts. Distinguished in combat during Battle of Burning Lake. Survived Battle of Luna.
Magda-9 spent a great deal of time studying and developing weaponry, working alongside Tower Gunsmiths and with several City foundries, including Häkke and Tex Mechanica. [More recent information acquired from BrayTech on Europa suggests that prior to and following Exo Uploading, Magda Versenne worked to develop weapons for Clovis Bray.] //(NOTE: This information is NOT to be included in the APB, per Vanguard policy on first lives. -AUN-326)// With this knowledge, she has been a known confidant for Guardians and Lightbearers seeking custom calibration and modification work, especially for proscribed weaponry.
Magda-9's willingness to violate Vanguard protocol led to her meeting Damon Geist (POI #0479), who introduced her to Dredgen Cull and the rest of the Shadows of Yor, including Afa Kashaf (POI #0478) and Hadil Ainu (POI #0492). She took on the moniker "Dredgen Vergift" with this association. Her weaponsmithing talent was used in creating replicas of Thorn, which were distributed among the members of the Shadows of Yor. Kashaf's radicalization spread to Magda-9 when he imparted knowledge to her learned from PSC-1642-UMB ("Umbranomicon"), allowing her to devise new weapons. All weapons crafted or worked on by Magda-9 since that time are being evaluated, and many are considered dangerously close to being classified as WOS-grade and being banned.
Following Shin Malphur's purge of the Shadows of Yor, Magda-9 escaped with the rest of Kashaf's crew while Malphur pursued Dredgen Cull.
Their activities were still clandestine at this time, but it is now known that Magda-9 has been forging more weaponry and steeping them in Dark energies. Kashaf's team, now calling itself the "Shadows of Salvation," has been sighted in a number of atrocities across the system. Their most recent sighting was in the vicinity of the Loyalist Cabal ship Glykon Volatus, from which Kashaf stole Hive artifacts.

DETAILS: First rez during Dark Age (timeline unknown), somewhere in Old Russia. Became a Warlord aligned to the Warlord Citan. Following Citan's demise, agreed to Iron Decree, migrated to site of the Last City. Participated in Battles of Six Fronts, Burning Lake, Luna, and Twilight Gap.
Hadil Ainu has long been considered too detached from the rest of humanity, caring little for the lives of Lights and Lightless alike. She avoided skirting the lines of the Iron Decree, though it is suspected in the latter days of the Dark Age, she flouted the Decree and has done so since, though little evidence has been found to support such charges.
Ainu has shown a trend toward using the Light in unusual ways, including in the torture of enemies of humanity. These methods have never been condoned by the Vanguard or Consensus. She was easily swayed to the beliefs of the Shadows of Yor, as Dredgen Cull found her a willing convert as she took the name "Dredgen Ruin." At this time, Ainu came into contact with Afa Kashaf (POI #0478), Damon Geist (POI #0479), and Magda-9 (POI #0480), working alongside them to further their understanding wielding Light and Darkness, especially following Kashaf's acquisition of knowledge from PSC-1642-UMB ("Umbranomicon").
