Destiny 2 - Exotic LFR Concept - Huntsman Longbore

With all the Destiny writing I've been doing over the past year, and my frequent activity on the r/DestinyJournals subreddit, I've seen a few people posting their own concepts for exotic weapons or armors, complete with lore entries. After writing about the Huntmaster, I got an itch to write an exotic entry for his "Longbore" weapon. So...

Huntsman Longbore

"My gaze reaches far. My senses stretch wide. My sting bites true." --Zela Tatu, the Huntmaster.

Weapon Type: Linear Fusion Rifle
Damage Type: Arc
Weapon Slot: Power

Reserves: 12
Charge Time: 575 (1024 If using Concentrated Venom)

Exotic Perk: Concentrated Venom - Consume the magazine to load a round which lowers defense and applies damage over time.

Trait: Decreases Concentrated Venom Charge Time by 250 and expands reserves.

Appearance: A bespoke Hive Boomer with an extended barrel for long-distance, precision damage.

Lore

I. The prey must never be allowed respite.
II. Fleeing prey drains itself in escaping.
III. Desperate prey expends itself in fighting.
IV. Skittish prey exhausts itself in vigilance.
V. The prey will defeat itself attempting to endure the hunt.

--Axioms of the Hunt, Zela Tatu, Huntmaster of Xivu Arath, Inexorable--

Never thought Hive understood endurance hunting. But these are true. In all cases, the prey expends energy and leaves themselves more vulnerable, whether from fight or flight.

Fight? They may be desperate (and therefore dangerous), but they will expend a lot of energy if they think they're about to die.

Flight? They may run all they like, but they will have to stop, while a measured, persistent hunter will inevitably catch up.

And even then, if the prey thinks itself being hunted, it will never get a proper rest, being constantly vigilant for the predator hunting them.
